WHY THIS WEBSITE WAS CREATED.

Growing up I used to go on the rooftop or the balcony at night and use my mother’s binoculars that she inherited from my grandfather (who was a sea captain) and look at the stars for as long as I can remember. It felt as if I could stay there forever. It was somewhat of a getaway from life.

My grandfather passed away years before I was born so looking at the stars made me feel connected to him in a way even though I never got to meet him. I am sure he saw many types of stars through the same binoculars possibly even the same ones I've seen. I do think that the stars he saw through these binoculars were probably brighter and more appealing to look at as it was in the middle of the sea.

The occasional shiny bright star also made its appearance in these binoculars for me which made me wonder three questions 1. what type of star it was, 2. what its name was, and 3. what color it was. Those 3 questions always came up in my mind. To this day, these questions come to mind when I see a shiny star. I still smile as brightly as I used to when I used to see the stars through those same binoculars. It's one of the most nostalgic things ever for me. I think it always will be.

I hope my creating this website helps someone as passionate as me about the stars get the answers to any questions they might have just as I did.
